John 3:16 (NLT) 16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.“ Luke 23:33 (NLT) 33 When they came to a place called Calvary, they nailed him to the cross. 1 Peter 2:24 (NIV) 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” Isaiah 1:18 (NLT) 18 “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow…“ Old Rugged Cross On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame. And I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain. O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, has a wondrous attraction for me. For the dear lamb of God left his glory above to bear it to dark calvary. In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see. For it was on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and rescue me. So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown.
