An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Notes: These poor, outcast shepherds received what is arguably the most important message ever delivered to mankind. And it was a three part message A savior has been born He is the Messiah He is for everyone Notes: Luke 2: 10 (NIV) “…I bring you good news that will cause great joy for ALL the people. Today is the town of David a Savior has been born TO YOU” Notes: John 3: 16-18 (NIV) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned…” Notes: We have a message to share that is good news for everyone Matthew 28: 19-20 (NIV) Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, son and Holy Spirit and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. Notes: Acts 4: 13 (NIV) When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Notes: Your greatest qualification for sharing the good news is with Jesus. Notes: Luke 2:17 (NIV) “…they spread the word concerning what had been told to them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
